Food Scraps and Composting at HFM
This season we're teaming up with Bootstrap Compost to give shoppers a means to divert their household food scraps from the waste stream! You will NOW be able to find a toter every Saturday at the Columbia Street entrance.
We hope you remember Andy from last season when he set up as a community vendor a number of times! Well, Andy and team have diverted 10.2 million pounds of organics from the waste stream since 2011. They're based in Boston, but they've expanded to RI, NH, and HUDSON!
Things to toss in: produce, egg shells, grains, meat, and bones are common ones! Please bring your scraps to market in either paper bags or compostable bags.

Bootstrap Compost also offers weekly pickups at your home and/or business (Happy Belly has been a customer since last year and couldn't recommend them enough-- look at that bucket!). But if you would like to bring your scraps to market instead the toter will be in the lot from 9:30am to 1:30pm.
